Once a student opens the video, they can find it again later simply by typing “MLA Format” (key words from the video title) into their Google Drive search. Think of it like a digital resource they’ll never lose!įor example, when we write our first essay at the beginning of the year, I always post a quick screen recording where I demonstrate how to format a doc in MLA. Students can then access these files anytime without having to go through Google Classroom first. When students open attachments in Google Classroom, those attachments are automatically added to the “Shared with Me” section of their Google Drive. Basically, if students only need to see the file (but not type on it), this is likely the setting you’ll want. Use this setting when posting articles, handouts, and other reference materials. In view-only, students will be able to open and view the attached file, but they will not be able to make any changes. This means that unless you specifically select one of the other options, your attachment will post as a view-only file. Use the email symbol against the people in your class to send them an email.Students can view file is the default setting for Google Classroom attachments.
This is where you can see who is in your class including your teacher. If you need to make any changes once you have handed your work in, perhaps the teacher gives you comments, you can click the Unsubmit button and work on it again before it is finally marked. Click this button and this sends your work to your teacher. This will return you to the project page and prompt you via a pop up to hand in your work. Once you have completed the work on your document you should click the Turn in button. Choose the type of document you would like to create. If you need to create a document to complete your submission click on the + add or create button located under Your work on the right-hand side of the screen. This may include an attachment you need to review. Your teacher will post an overview of the project they would like you to complete.
You can make a class comment in response, which your classmates will see, or you can ask your teacher a question by using a private comment.
You should check this area every time you log in, as there may be a new piece of work to do or a teacher question you need to respond to. This is where your class work will be and where your projects and any teacher questions appear.
